SWR meters are a extremely versatile and important piece of test equipment that ideally should be in every communication "shack". Not only do they aid in insuring peak antenna performance by providing a reference that can be used as a guide to tune antennas with, they can also help protect your expensive communication transceiver by warning you of catastrophic faults that can result in equipment damage if left uncorrected.
